Sarawakian Lanie Armysha Emerges As National Champion of Bintang Kecil 2011

KUCHING, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- A Sarawakian girl, Lanie Armysha Mohamad Nor, 11, emerged as the national champion of the 2011 Bintang Kecil (Children) singing competition after defeating eight other finalists here today.

With the title, Lanie Armysha also received cash of RM8,000 with accompanying trophy and certificate, which were presented by Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.

Siti Nurmasyitah Mohd Yusof, 11, from Kedah took second place, while Syarweena Yajit, 10, from Sabah settled at third place. They received RM6,000 and RM4,000 respectively, together with accompanying trophy and certificate.

Another Sarawakian, Muhammad Shahreeza Abu Samah, nine, bagged a cash prize of RM1,750 for Best Performance.

The national-level "Bintang Kecil" singing competition was first held in 1986 and had become an annual event organised by Sarawak RTM.
